Relay For life in honor of my Grandpa

This year, my sister and my mom have put together a Relay For Life team in honor of my Grandpa Riggs. As some of you may know, he has recently passed away. He got sick a few years ago with cancer, though they took care of it, it started coming back and he'd just been weak ever since.

So in his honor we have joined the American Cancer Society in this Relay For life. (the date is over my 1 year anniversary, so i might be at the relay, i might not, but i will still be doing plenty of other things to help and support.. so please still see if there are ways you can support him)!!!!!

Goal: $1000
Date/Time: Friday July 9th at 5 pm to Saturday July 10th at 5 pm. 
Registration Cost: $10
Registration Info: The $10 is paid to Relay for Life online when you register. You will get the Relay for Life general T-Shirt. If you would also like our team t-shirt, Stacey is working on getting a screen printer to sponsor us so they hopefully will be around $5-$10 each or free depending on what sponsors we can get. When you register online look for our team name “William Riggs,” I’ll update you if it changes.
 
Sponsors/Donations: We need to try to get to our goal of $1000. You can get money donations (which can be done online or with cash/check) or you can get donations for the Silent Auction. *All donations/sponsors over $25 will have their name/logo put on the back of our team shirts to help with some advertising and recognition for those sponsors. (The logo must be a high resolution jpeg, vectorized file like ai or eps to work; otherwise just the name will be listed. Email to staceymoss@live.com). If you are interested in getting sponsors or being a sponsor let me know and I can get you more information if needed.  Again if your name is listed above I have already registered you, you now have a website where you can have people donate to our team in your name. Spread the word.

Silent Auction:  The silent auction will be in early June. Start asking for donations of services, crafts, etc. now. The sooner you can get these items to be the better! All sponsors (businesses or individuals) who donated items worth $25 or more will also go on the back of the shirts. Again logos need to be the same as above. Individuals will just be listed as names.

Schedule: The track schedule will be on a first sign up basis. Once you are signed up, paid and officially part of the team you will get your pick of available spots that are open. We would like everyone to do 1 hour until we get more people and then could lower that time if needed. There can be more than one person on the track but we need at LEAST 1. So if you are a couple and would like to walk together you are more than welcome, more than 1 hour would be preferred but any help you can do would be great! Email me once you have signed up and you’ll get your pick of time slots open. We will have coolers with water for all those walking. (If you are already registered you wont get your pick of walking times until you’ve paid the $10 to Stacey).

Tent: We will have a tent and easy up at our location on the track. Everyone is welcome to spend the night if you would like. You will need to bring your own tent and supplies needed. Let Stacey and/or Carol know if you are interested in staying the night.

This is going to be a great event to help and give back to the American Cancer Society. Thanks for all your help and volunteering! Start getting donations now!
